How do I install Guide Recorder?
Visit the Chrome Web Store and search for "Guide Recorder" or use our direct installation link. Click "Add to Chrome" and follow the prompts.
Is my data secure?
Yes! Most of your data is stored locally on your device. Video generation temporarily uses our servers but data is automatically deleted after 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How do I delete my recordings?
Open the extension, click on any guide, and use the delete button. You can also uninstall the extension to remove all local data.
Can I use Guide Recorder for commercial purposes?

What video formats are supported?
Guide Recorder exports videos in MP4 format. You can also export guides as HTML, Markdown, or JSON for other use cases.
How do I add narration to my videos?
In the editor, click "Generate Script" to auto-generate narration text, then use "Generate Audio Track" to create voiceovers. Choose from multiple voice options.
Can I edit guides after recording?
Absolutely! Click any guide to open the editor where you can reorder steps, edit annotations, add slides, and customize everything before exporting.
Is there a file size limit?
Chrome's local storage has a 10MB limit by default, but can be extended. Generated videos are stored separately and have no specific size limit.
